1. Make sure you're 21 or older
Cap & Stem is 21+ only. Bring a valid government photo ID. We check it every visit, even if you've been in before.
2. Come by the shop (or order ahead)
We're at 814 S State St, near the University of Michigan campus. Walk-ins are always welcome, and there's free parking.
Want to skip the wait? Create a free account, add what you want to your cart on our menu, and it'll be ready for pickup. You still pay in store.
3. Bring cash
We're cash only, both for walk-ins and for online orders you pick up.
4. Pick a product
Everything on our menu falls into a few simple groups:
- Dried mushrooms: whole mushrooms, each strain tagged Level 1 to 5 from mildest to strongest.
- Chocolate bars: an easy, tasty way in, in a few flavors.
- Gummies: chewy, flavored and easy to share.
- Capsules: taste-free, nothing to weigh, popular for everyday routines.
5. New to this? Start gentle
If it's your first time, start with a Level 1 strain or a gentle product, and start small. You can always try more another day, but you can't undo taking too much.
Read our Dosage Guide before you go, and ask our staff anything. Helping first-timers is a big part of what we do.
6. At the counter
Show your ID, tell us what you're looking for (or that you'd like a recommendation), and pay in cash. If you ordered ahead, just give us your name.
Members earn cash back on every purchase to spend in store, so it's worth signing up while you're here.
